Launch of an Entry-Level Model 'OmniPOD Lite' Supporting Sub-6 Local 5G

KYOCERA Mirai Envision Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as KCME; Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Hyngbae Kim) is delighted to announce the expansion of its partnership with Quanta Cloud Technology (hereinafter referred to as QCT; Head Office: Taiwan, President: Mike Yang) to distribute their newly developed product, OmniPOD Lite, in Japan. This entry-level model supports local 5G in the sub-6 GHz spectrum.

Local 5G allows organizations to establish their private 5G wireless networks, unaffected by other users' traffic, thereby leveraging the full benefits of eMBB, URLLC, and mMTC. Many organizations are presently using local 5G technologies for proof of concepts (PoCs) or small-scale production environments. The latest equipment is designed to build networks in more diverse customer environments while reducing initial costs. It also can be upgraded to incorporate enhanced features offered by current models, enabling future commercial use and scalability of the network.
