What is the sXGP?
SXGP (shared Extended Global Platform) is a private communication method using 4G/LTE, a standard communications technology that smartphones and other devices use. Private LTE will provide superior mobility and higher voice quality than Wi-Fi. SXGP is also available as a replacement for PHS (Personal Handy-phone System), which is still in use but was introduced many years ago.

Features
-
01 No license application required
SXGP uses unlicensed spectrum and does not require a license application.
-
02 Better propagation characteristics
Compared to Wi-Fi, sXGP has better RF diffraction and longer distance coverage. As a result, the number of devices can be reduced.
-
03 High security
sXGP builds a closed network to ensure secure communications. The devices use SIM authentication.

What do you think about creating a private 4G/LTE service?
PHS services are coming to an end. Building a private 4G/LTE to replace your on-premises PHS will increase work efficiency.

Functions
-
Functions 1
Time synchronization using base station signals
※No need for GPS -
Functions 2
Maximum communication speed:
4 Mbps for uplink and 12 Mbps for downlink -
Functions 3
The solution supports newly added spectra.
*Added spectra:
Two 5 MHz bands previously used by public PHS have been reassigned to sXGP, which shares a 5 MHz band with on-premise PHS.
Use scenarios
SXGP can be used in various industries.

- Accessible from smartphones, enabling application use

- You can use a phone even in tunnels and other areas with poor reception.

- For factory surveillance with SIM card cameras
Actual use cases
-
Time-saving environment
- Industory
- Agriculture
- Number of units
- APs: 5
Smartphones: 10
Benefits achieved
This project deployed sXGP to create a wireless communications environment in areas without cellular connectivity. The network enables operations with a small number of access points covering a large area for which Wi-Fi would have required many.
