About Hyper-Converged Solutions
With standard virtual infrastructure generally the servers and storage are separated. Hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) is a virtual platform integrating both computing and storage functions in the server. HCI can be implemented with a small start and managed by software, significantly improving the expandability, resilience, and operability of IT infrastructure.
HCI = Hyper-Converged Infrastructure.

SDS technology allows the use of the computing functions of hardware servers (x86) only and the storage functions of local HDD and SSD in the main unit, to realize an integrated virtual platform. A particular feature of this is how well it lends itself to small starts: you can start with a small 3-node configuration (several servers running as a cluster), using each server for local storage.
SDS = Software-Defined Storage.

Simple operation and control
Converged infrastructure can be grouped together and provided as a single rack, but requires some work in terms of integrated control functions. Compared to this, HCI brings together hardware and software in an all-in-one package, shortening the implementation time and simplifying control and operation.

There is an increasing need for corporate systems to have greater agility matched to the speed of business growth. For ICT infrastructure, HCI is distinguished by its rapid implementation and low costs, providing scalability to expand flexibly according to business applications while also making effective use of resources and reducing TCO and the work involved in implementation and operation.
Forming a simple platform with a single device
We combine a single product functioning as a virtualization platform with package comprising of server computer,
virtualization software, control software, network equipment, and storage equipment.
- Function 01 SDS
Previously, shared external storage had to be used to form a virtualization platform to ensure availability and redundancy. SDS technology enables use of all the storages in the servers as shared virtual storage accessible from any server.
- Function 02 Easy scaling out/up
In HCI the storage and nodes are integrated, allowing expansion of performance and capacity by vertically scaling out. Storage capacity can also be incrementally added to match increases in data volumes, to scale up.
- Function 03 Automating control and operation
Integrated control makes it possible to simplify operation using automation (orchestration) tools.
