KCME Launches EMOVision: EV Charging Monitoring Platform for Organizations
Press Release
KYOCERA Mirai Envision Co., Ltd.
KYOCERA Mirai Envision Co., Ltd. (KCME), located in Minato-ku, Tokyo, with President Hyngbae Kim, has launched an EV charging monitoring platform called EMOVision, specifically designed for organizations that own or plan to introduce electric vehicles (EVs).
As part of efforts to achieve a carbon-neutral society, KCME has been undertaking EV charger installation projects. During these projects, KCME has received numerous opinions and consultations from customers about operations. Based on these customer needs, KCME decided that providing a charging management service tailored to organization EV usage is essential for future business operations. This led to the development of the EMOVision platform.
Overview of the EMOVision:
● Charging Station Management System (CSMS)
1.Remote Management
- Supports the international OCPP communication protocol
- Enables real-time data collection and control of chargers
- Allows for remote diagnosis, repair, and updates
2.Output Control
- Manages power load when multiple EVs charge simultaneously to keep the user's peak electricity demand below a certain level, reducing demand charges or fixed charges based on its contracted capacity levels.
3.Dashboard
- Visualizes necessary data such as charging status, history, and CO2 emissions reduction
4.Multi-vendor Compatibility
- Supports OCPP-compliant normal and rapid chargers from various manufacturers (planned to support more products)
● Mobile App
1.Map feature
- Allows searching for nearby EV charging spots using Google Maps
2.EV Charging feature
- Starts charging by scanning the charger's QR code with a smartphone camera
- Provides charging status monitoring and completion notifications
3.My Charger feature
- Enables remote management of a user's home charger
- Allows scheduling charging during off-peak, low-cost electricity hours
● Optional Services
1.API Integration
- Enables data exchange with other services
2.Security Response (under consideration)
- Collaboration with security companies to detect charger errors, dispatch security personnel, and provide initial response
- (*A separate contract with a security company is needed.)
With this comprehensive platform, KCME advances efforts aligned with our vision to help realize sustainable and adaptable communities, working toward a carbon-neutral future.
